Colorado show report

Posted by John S. on Tuesday, 24 May 2022, at 12:51 p.m.

Not a lot of trapdoor stuff at the Colorado Denver show this year. It was held in Colorado Springs again this year, due to the old venue being sold, and now torn down. Next year it will be in a very nice new venue in Greeley, CO, and remain there. It was 86 degrees for Thursday set up and Friday night they had TEN INCHES OF SNOW- which pretty much was all melted off by Saturday night. There were about 80-100 fewer tables than last year, and public attendance was about half of normal. x x x Relatively few trapdoors there, most well used common stuff. There were three M1865 First Allins, and maybe 6-8 M1873-77-79 carbines, and one tired M1880 triangular rod bayonet rifle but no high condition or low price - let alone high condition AND low price- trapdoors. Other collectible arms seemed to be similarly represented, with mediocre condition and astronomical prices posted. Final observation is that the 98 of those present appear to share one common collecting interest- Social Security.
