Thanks for the responses guys, and about the only thing I could think of with S.F. was San Francisco. With that being said, there is no quotPquot before the quotBquot which led me to think that the B stood for Company B in some State or Militia unit. Im guessing that the fact that this serial number does not appear in the SRS database makes this rifle a likely candidate to have been issued to the police in SF If anyone needs a picture of said marking, I would be happy to send it if it would help.
