Can I use a 1884 breech block on a 1873 receiver

I have a 1873 receiver and I am having a hard time finding a complete breech block in great condition dated 1873 but I do see 1884 ones often in really amazing conditions. Can the 1884 blocks be fitted to my 1873 receiver The other question I have is can a pedersoli block be fitted as well I have several builds coming up I would like to do with a trapdoor action.
