Hi There, Look in your Hatchers Notebook. He developed a simple method of measuring lock time using an electric motor with a disk attached and a scribe. The scribe was attached to the striker or in your case, the hammer the fall of the striker would move the scribe from one point on the disk to another. By knowing the RPMs of the motor, measuring the amount of rotation the disk made during the two rings on the disk, one can calculate the lock time pretty accurately. Especially, for determining relative increase in lock time speed. PGood Luck W.L. Wyman
