I do not see any validation for usage of a Cadet model trapdoor by the 40th U.S. Volunteer Infantry.- - - The SRS database lists numerous Krag serial numbers for various companies of the 4t0th U.S. Vol Inf, and not a single listing for any trapdoors. - - - By the time the high number U.S. Volunteer Infantry units were being raided, there were sufficient Krags to outfit them. Trapdoor use in the Span AM era was pretty much limited to state-raised units, which alreadyhad trapdoors in state custody. Even some of those had the trapdoors replaced during their period ov mobilization.
