Yeah, those hamprs can be a problem. DAMN the special character BS. Rather than trying to drive out the piece of spring steel, Id suggest removing the hinge pin. Blocking and padding the gun to hold it steady while whacking the pin may be tricky. You didnt ask, but be SURE that the cam locks up properly on the shaft before you shoot it. H and R took a cheap shortcut which allows the gun to fire out of battery.
