Re 1870 Trapdoor variant

Posted by Dick Hosmer on Wednesday, 13 January 2021, at 11:32 a.m., in response to 1870 Trapdoor variant, posted by Larry Sunday on Wednesday, 13 January 2021, at 12:59 a.m.

Sounds interesting, Larry. Nice to finally have ALL of the features described at one time. But, is the block a thick 1868 or a thin 1870 Is the 10|10 in the classic 1868 serifed font Not that either would make a difference, it is still a mixture - but, as on the former post, if the rifle is near mint, Bubba is pretty well ruled out. MIGHT be a VERY VERY early first-production gun, right after the trials.
