How are the six lands and grooves configured If of apparently equal size, you are looking at a standard three-groove barrel. Legitimate six-groove barrels have very narrow lands with wider spaces in between. Are you sure it isnt a FIVE groove barrel - which WAS made by some of the after-market perps PAs to threads, once again you are turned around 180 degrees - PIPE threads DO taper, that is what sets them aside from all others. SA-made trapdoor barrels and receivers do NOT and NEVER did have tapered threads. PThe only really intelligent comment that has been made in this thread so far is the differentiation of old and new barrels vs. old and new receivers - there WOULD be a problem trying to force and old square-ended barrel into a newer post 96300 receiver. PI wish to apologize - I do NOT mean to pick on you, especially as I sense that English may not be your native language, but this is getting nowhere without being able to find a means to communicate with ACTUAL facts. For example, the last sentence of the post above is a complete contradiction.
