I think they were all made - in one lot of 10,000 - during the 1970/1971 period, though I can't see what real difference that would make since they were all reproductions with no history. If that date is wrong, it isn't off by more than a year.

Mine is #5858 and is quite accurate. I did install a real Springfield mainspring (drops right in) to replace the miserable folded strip of sheet metal provided by H&R. Lock time seems much faster.
