Re: 7th cavalry quarter Master Records

Is there a chance, that the Ordnance returns may have been sent back to the larger posts, (Riley, Leavenworth,) and been consolidated/"lost" to the systems there?

The reason I ask is because from 1995 to 1997, I was assigned to the MPs at Fort Riley KS. During those years, the MPs lived and worked out of the historic old barracks and stables. We routinely turned over old files and artifacts found in the attics to the museum. I later learned that my building, was one of the barracks used by the units that rotated through the US Cavalry School from the mid 1880's to around 1892.

I always wondered what records, if any, are still in the hands of the US Cavalry Museum?

I am interested in your thoughts on this, and I do read most if not all of the postings on this BB v/r Jim
