I notice the rifle Geronimo is holding in the surrender photo dont have the correct front barrel band with swivels. looks to be a mixed parts gun. I have read somewhere native Americans were known to sometime remove the metal parts from stolen guns and use them as tools. I'am sure if parts were removed and lost Indians replaced them with whatever worked, If those rifles photographed are not props it could be the explanation of why these rifles look the way they do. I'm also sure bubba was around at that time.
