With apologies to Al, and I guess I'm picking some really small nits here, but the capitalized word "Gibb" has always grated on me somehow - shouldn't it actually be "gib"?

That IS listed in the dictionary, with one of the definitions (a wedge of metal) being proper for our context.

In any event they are scarce - have only seen one pair on a sight in nearly 50 years.
