Tom, When I look at the H&R, compared to an original, I think the shooters cause the cam lock failure by closing the breech as you would on an original, just using the thumb to close the breech. This would cause the cam to rotate on the cam shaft sooner or later to the point of not providing the lock to the receiver. If shooters would hold the thumb piece up during closing and then allow the thumb piece to rotate to down and locked position would this prevent the failure of the cam lock? Just a thought and observation Thank you Paul
