The H&R replicas were made throughout the early 1970s. That number does not seem right. As I understand it, they made 10,000 of the initial run (mine is 5858) plus a FEW more "special issue (plated, extra markings, etc.) versions - quantities unknown, but very limited. Your number (in REAL production, which it is NOT) would date to 1886. Real OMs were not serialed, and NO Springfield ever had a combination of letters and numbers.
