Re: 1884 trap door

I listed the following SN 81898 trapdoor rifle last week but want to add some some information. on right side of gun shows eagle and U.S. Springfield 1873 quite clearly. On the butt Plate at top of the stock there is an U. S. by the screw. On the barrel there is a V over P. On the band by the site there is an U. The patina on the rifle is uniform through out the gun. There is no visible cartouche on the stock. On the receiver/trapdoor there are the words "model 1873 some type of figure and U.S. Any help would be appreciated regarding anything about this rifle.
