Have you fired it yet? There have been reports on this forum that the 'trapdoor' will open upon discharge. I believe that can be corrected. As for your questions; I am not knowledgible about your firearm. I have looked at then in gun shops and they are 'purty'. And, I think you can fire modern 45-70 ammo in them. We three (me, myself and I) shoot original SA trapdoors with black powder loads.
