Over the years I've only owned two Springfield T.D.'s. My first antique firearm was an 1873/79 that came out of a Fort Sill, Oklahoma pawn shop. It was bought by a U.S. Army soldier as his first hunting rifle in the 1960s'. It came with a hand carved Maple stock. It was manufactured on March 13, 1879. I still have this T.D., but stupidly dumped the stock. My second T.D. was acquired many years later. It was a Model 1888 in very fine condition. I sold it back in 2014. Most of my collection consisted of early Winchester rifles and early Colt percussion and Bisley SAA with a few Civil War era S&W's thrown in for good measure.
