Re: Geronimo's last Springfield

I have to agree with Rick, so far: A prop.

Have found copies of Chihuahua (sitting) and Chato and Geronimo (both kneeling) with what HAS to be the same gun - long barrel with M1879 sight in what appears to be a proper, short wrist, carbine stock having a distinctive scar along the bottom. The stock shows some fiddle grain, and seems to be a bit more "worn" in the Geronimo version.

The backdrops are clearly IDENTICAL.

In fact, closer inspection of the left foreground seems to show that some of the twigs are even in the same (!!) position in the Chato & Geronimo pics, so they may not have been taken too far apart in time.
