He is basically saying it is a 1881 because the stock cartouche and then trying to match everything else. I would think even if it us a 1881 ex condition would have to have all the original parts. It doesn't have the pistol grip, sight hood, cleaning rod and the trap door hinge pin is broken, The stock is only fair, the cartouche is hard to read, markings are pretty poor. Does the 1881 cartouche carry any weight by itself?
