If he is still speaking to you, does the LGS owner offer ANY justification for the price, other than that it is "old" (and hence of course - in a moron's world - EXTREMELY valuable just for that fact alone)? It is hard to believe that a rational person would be THAT far off base.

Is it a consigned piece? Perhaps we are dealing with an ignorant consignor? The shop owner would naturally be defensive, and irriatated at being made to look bad? Unfortunately, the LGS of today are not the LGS of our youth!
