Not sure what you want to know but SRS was started by Frank Mallory and he searched the national archives for years pulling any martial serial number he could find. This resulted in a searchable data base on line as well as five books of numbers and many newsletters Why no. 4 1995 and no. 4 1999? we do not know. After his demise the new owner took down the on line data. And to research a number thru him requires you to join his group and submit a request for a search. The books are on occasion sold thru auction sites or rare book sellers a good set will cost a little over one thousand dollars. Or you can ask about a complete number and when someone with the books has time they will look up a number and see if it was recorded. This would be a snapshot in time as to where it was on a certain day and not a complete history. do not expect to find " serial number 12345 was lost June 25 1976 at Little big horn river". Hope this helps any thing more you would like please ask.
