Re: Roberts conversion

Finally got my Roberts conversion Enfield today I won on an auction. Im a bit dissapointed in the condition but it is what it is. I think its an Enfield that was originally a 3 band but cut down to a two band. The lock plate has Barnett over London. No crown or year. There are very few marking on the gun overall. There is a B on the left side of the Roberts conversion 'monkey tail' and a B at the very end of the barrel just in front of the conversion. It appears as somebody sanded down the stock so there are almost no marking on it. The bottom of the butt stock has very faint markings, I think it says JOHN Marson? Hard to tell for sure, barely readable. Does anybody know what the letter B's are for or what they mean? I will keep my eyes open for another Roberts down the road and then maybe part this one out, but for now it will have to do. Any info on the few markings I have would be great.
