SO for years I was always interested in Civil War/Indian War rifles because of their historical importance, but I never thought I would own one. Primarily this was because of me not knowing enough to be confident in what I was purchasing (i.e., was it correct, etc.)
Then, I found this site, the great forum, had a great visit with Dick, and exchanged e-mails with Al.
I ended up buying a M1884 from Al and it has been fun to shoot and a great conversation piece.
And yet, I felt something. A longing. As though more were needed. And now I have TWO trapdoor rifles, having recently purchased a M1868 from Al.
I feel this may be the start of an addiction. Already I can feel the absence of a carbine in my collection... When does it stop?
hehe, thanks all for making this a great resource for noobies like me!
