Thanks Dick... No... There was no hickory plug in the chamber. Perhaps somebody had opened the action before, and removed it. The ejector stud was gone, so perhaps they were trying to get the 1st lead plug out and thought it might give enough clearance if the stud was removed.... I already have both of your books. I received them before I went overseas for all of Febuary thru August. I did not take them with me, and have only been able to glance thru them, I really like what I see in them...I just now read your Chapter 13, pages 190 thru 200.. Great information!!!!... I will probably read every word in both books when Winter hits.
