He turns out good stuff, and provides a viable marketing venue to support the antique gun hobby, so we should be happy about what he does.

However, he does have a reputation for being a bit quirky to deal with, mainly delays, some of which are undoubtedly beyond his control. Getting folks in the metal casting industry to mess with making small runs of obscure tiny stuff is hard enough. Getting them to do so with the quality needed for antique gun restoration at affordable prices is even harder.

So, if you are patient, I endorse working with him. If you need instant gratification or constant updates maybe it would be better to look elsewhere.

My only dealing with him on a parts project was a really long time ago and it worked out okay, but I have no idea if the experience today is better or worse.

However, there are not a lot of other options that I know of.
