Also, it depends on whether the arm is early or late. At first, the three rod holes were the same depth and the Tegethoff (four-pronged spring-style} HSE surronded the center rod section. Later, the center hole was bored deeper and the M1882 HSE (cylindrical with rifling) was stowed "on top of" the center rod section. Don't know exactly when this changed by s/n, but the stock will speak for itself.
