I have had some luck removing oil based stains using a mixture of whiting and acetone or TCE. Whiting powder is available from Brownells. Mix up a slurry, brush on a thick coat and it will draw out the stain. For tough stains I've found if after brushing on the slurry mixture you can put the stock in a black plastic bag folded over to provide some seal and let it set in the sun for the afternoon. The heat generated in the bag by the sunshine will help with drawing out the stain. Repeat several times as needed. Good Luck.
