Re: M1882 Short Rifles

Posted by Dick Hosmer on Thursday, 7 December 2017, at 6:30 p.m., in response to Re: M1882 Short Rifles, posted by dr edwards on Thursday, 7 December 2017, at 5:46 p.m.

The left side of the breechblock knuckle has a ring cut into it, concentric with the pin hole. The right side of the extractor has a ring of metal added, concentric to its' hole, which is enlarged. The extractor spring, being quite strong, thereby causes the extractor to bind/drag on the block. All covered and illustrated in my new book (cheap plug).

Thanks Al, didn't think you meant to imply that this feature was not universal on the M1882.
