Good to know! I got this impression, too, when Al talked to me about two of the 1868s I was looking at on Joe Salter's site.

Any chance you have a M1868 you want to part with, Dick? hehe

My inclination at the moment is to pick up a M1873 or M1884 from Al. This would allow me to not have to worry about the descriptions or the provenance. They also seem like they would be a good introduction to the platform. I am also going to order a couple of the books I have seen recommended to start building my knowledge about the trapdoors more generally.
