You have a late Model 1873 Rifle, which has possibly had the breechblock replaced - not terribly uncommon, but it does affect price at bit. No information was found for that exact number in the surviving records. In average condition, with NO aftermarket tomfoolery, a basic value, unless condition is exceptionally good, or bad, would be around $500-$600 dollars. I am intrigued by your comment that it was your dad's "war rifle". Did you mean that HE used it as such, or that it simply belonged to him and just happens to be a former military firearm?
