Eric. Short answer YES. Google bogusbuckles dot com. It will give a short history and also give you a book on the subject to get if you want to dig deeper into the history of them. As far as Mills plates the subject here the way to spot a fake is the Mills stamping of information on the reverse. If its deep and well centered its one to watch out for If lightly stamped and may even run of on the lower right edge it may well be correct. Seems the fakers did way to good a job on them. Also search reproduction belt plates for a real minefield of bogus items. Best to do your homework before buying anything these days. Hope this helps.
