To that group of companies listed for the Reno/Benteen/McDougal contingent, add companies G and M (although casualties for G were almost as high as in the 5 companies with Custer). IIRC, Lt Wallace found just 3 survivors from G joined him on Reno Hill. I believe that most of the dozen or so troopers that made it out of the valley somewhat later with scout/courier George Herendeen were probably from G. So there may have been 15 or 16 G troopers survive the Valley fight, to which would be added the 6 or 7 that had been assigned to the regiment's pack train. NOt sure if those survivors with Herendeen would have still had their carbines when the made it to the hill.
