OK, so then the oft-made statement that "Springfield did not make 5-groove barrels" is not technically true? Now it seems like they DID "make" them, but just not for in-house consumption?

That would explain my example which is indistinguishable from the real thing. It has the "T" barrel code, rather than the common "A" or "R". I want to say that it DOES have the last "P" but will hold-off until I can dig it out, in the next couple of days.

My SA-made sporting rifle also has the "T" code, but service rifling.
