Ohio-marked swivel escutcheon/rosette

Posted by James Brenner on Monday, 19 June 2017, at 1:23 p.m.

Has anyone seen a .45-70 bayonet scabbard with an Ohio rosette, please? I've heard rumors that there are some out there and Reilly's book, American Socket Bayonets and Scabbards, suggests that they exist. After unsuccessfully looking for one at shows and through dealers for the past several months, I sort of feel like I'm on a snipe hunt, but without a flashlight or burlap sack. I would greatly appreciate any information anyone has.

Thanks very much,

James Brenner
