The breechblock would be a stretch as I said. The sight cannot be original to the gun if it is mounted with slotted screws. The rod bayonets were not an "occasional" thing, though four different types were made over the years. Starting at AROUND 500,000, all rifles were RBs, no standard rifles were made after that cut-off point. Those final type RBs with "out-of-sequence" numbers (110xxx and 320xxx areas, for example) represent rebuilds/salvage.
