I have a 1884 model Springfield Trapdoor rifle. The serial number dates it to being manufactured in 1879 with the "cartouche" on the stock being 1891. Can this be or is this rifle built from different parts? The Breechblock has the 1884 on it with the s/n stamped on the lower end of 109xxx. The rifle has all the "UPDATES" for the 1884, serrated trigger, built in bayonet the upgraded site etc.
