Looks (from the pictures) like a pretty nice carbine to me, and the stock does not bother me at all - assuming there are no hidden issues that a personal examination might reveal. For those who play the proximity game, I'd note that 39615, 39674, and 39792 are presumed to be 7th Cav issue. There are (far) worse s/n ranges!

If it "turned out to be ID'd", you wouldn't care WHAT it looked like - let's be honest.

What DOES bother me, at least, is the (hopefully) ridiculously low estimated value of the entire Springfield selection. Are things REALLY that bad, or is Cowan's just trying to get the ball rolling?
