Well, you're still attempting to generalize. First, we'd need to agree on the value of a plain garden-variety (but genuine and unaltered) early 1873 carbine with no Custer pretentions, which could be in the $5,000 to $7,500 range to the right buyer. Then factor in that a documented/ID'd LBH-used specimen has sold for over $250,000 and you have quite a spread. It is, really, what a willing seller and a willing buyer can agree upon, on a particular day of the week.

Time and space do not permit me to give you search terms for Google. Play around. Follow leads. Retrace your steps and try again. Unit histories. Famous battles. Various wars and campaigns. Historical societies. Museums. Enjoy the hunt. I do not recall, offhand, where I found my Krag carbine info - but I know it is bookmarked on my home PC.
