Baltimore report

Posted by John on Monday, 20 March 2017, at 9:07 p.m.

If you don't go to Baltimore, you are missing a wonderful experience, and the chance to meet and chat with many people who share our interests. Most of the guys with stuff listed on the "for sale" page here have lots of goodies at the Baltimore show. You could assemble a pretty complete trapdoor collection just shopping the tables there. For example, there were at least the following: 2 officer models, 2 long range models, 3 M1880 triangular rod bayonet rifles, 3 or 4 flat latch M1884 rod bayonet rifles, a dozen or more carbines, 3 New York regimental marked M1888 rod bayonet rifles. (And a couple with purported interesting histories based on the erroneous assumption that a number close to one listed in SRS has the same history.)

Lots of cool trinkets too, ammo by the box or singles, including a very rare "U.S. CARBINE" raised headstamp round to bulk quantities of Bannerman salvaged .45-70 rounds.

Of course, Al Frasca is there, which alone is sufficient reason to attend,

Quit making excuses, and just start planning NOW to make arrangements to go to the 2018 Baltimore show.
