In my opinion the grip may be new, and nicely done, but not really a factor in value. The sling is later trapdoor Krag type with thick claws, about $125-150, and the wood rod is maybe another $35 or so, leaving about $1400 for the rifle. Not a cheap one, but not out of line with retail prices I see. The stock finish is slopped onto the metal parts and looks like old linseed oil, not a big deal. Reasonable amount of case colors on the block. Not the best RRB I have seen, but at least a bit above most seen today. The seller provided a lot of pretty decent photos. Not something I wold buy, but I don't think he is being unreasonable or unethical (except possibly about the wood grip). Probably will not sell at that price, either. YMMV
