Altered Trapdoor Stock

Posted by Mike Bennett on Sunday, 5 March 2017, at 11:51 a.m.

I have an altered Trapdoor Stock which I received from a friend over 20 years ago as it's owner threw it into the a pit area during my friends job of back filling a new foundation. It had a Schuetzen style buttplate crudely fitted and I believe the forearm was cut off. The overall length is now 27 1/2". The lock is intact as is the trigger assembly. No other metal. The stock has intact cartouche markings. I am thinking of adding length to both ends to use the stock with an H&R Springfield Stalker muzzleloader barrel to make an interesting project. Would this be a "sin" historically speaking or ok since it's pretty much destroyed already?
