Hi there I was passed down a rifle I know very little about. Any help would be wonderful. The bolt says model 1873 with an emblem under that like an eagle two swords US under that. Serial number on receiver is 13079 I believe that is produced in 1874? However the locking plate says US Springfield underneath that 1883 with the eagle cartouche next to it. So I'm really confused when I read your facts does that mean this rifle is just mixed up a bunch of parts? It's in very good condition metal is in fantastic condition doesn't look to be re-blued but I am no expert at that I just see some ware from a bayonet aside from that metal is in very good condition. The bore is very nice only a little pitting near the muzzle and good rifling. The wood definitely has been sanded unfortunately I believe though I can see a faint cartouche on that only. Any help as of what kind of rifle it is and if it has any value to it I would really appreciate it thank you so much. Greg
