About three years ago, there was a rash of these guns that had their chambers bored and sleeved and sold as real. You can tell if they were altered because of the circular scratches in the receiver in front of the chamber. If the torching is shallow, then a shallow boring of the chamber with a fitted sleeve MAY result in a shootable rifle, but in most of the cases that I have seen, and this one is a good example, the torching is too deep. Bob Hoyt says that if the receiver is not welded to the barrel, he can take them apart, weld in the damaged area and rework the barrel and chamber.
