********Removing the front or rear sight screw.********

1--Hollow ground screw driver that fits tightly.

2-Small ball pin hammer.

3-Grasp the screw driver tightly and turn counter clock wise while tapping the head of the driver. Don't try to unscrew the screw, just turn and tap. This has worked for me many times working on older guns.

DO NOT try to turn the wind-age screw without the front sight screw inserted into the blade and base. This will damage the threads.

If the wind-age screw still will not turn without force after the sight is loosened from the barrel you will want to soak the assembly in a solvent that is safe for bluing.

If all else fails, you can send the assembly to me and I will fix it for you. You pay the postage both ways. No charge on this end.

I also have an excellent Buffington sight for sale if you need it.

Ernie
