It's all about personal preferences. I didn't buy my rifle #127 because it was widely desired. I just wanted it. I personaly know of only one other person on the planet who's interested in it or of that type. I'm very happy to have found it and was able to obtain it. The 1868 dated 1868's were all prototypes and as such show variations within them. From the appearance of some, the 150 or so made in 1868 were tested by Springfield Armory to determine their suitability for production. That's pretty significant and interesting to Dick and myself as well as to the eight other people who own one of them.
