Ed Knisely mentioned that Providence Tool was making guns for the Turkish government and the country defaulted on the contract and some of the guns were sold in the US. Some of these guns had rear sights similar to the Springfield sight and some were marked with Arabic numbers and the ones sold in the US had standard numbers on the ladder. I have not seen these ladders, but possibly this is the source.
