Pedersoli Prices

Posted by John Gross on Sunday, 9 October 2016, at 7:58 p.m.

I have a mild interest in purchasing a reproduction carbine to hang on the wall in my den. I went to gunbroker to see what a Pedersoli would cost me, and used their advanced search for completed auctions which would give me actual selling prices.

To my surprise, all the auctions over the past 90 days not only had no sales, but not a single auction even had a bid. The link below is a good example. It's an Officer's Model which was first offered at $999 with no sale/bids, reduced to $799 and again no sale/bids, and then reduced again to $599 with no sale/bids.

Is there a market for these reproductions? A problem with them? While I don't buy guns for investment, I would like to know when the time comes to sell a gun there will be somebody interested in buying it.

Thanks,

John Gross
