Hey Dan!!!!... Just came to me.... I wonder if your lock had a broken sear at one time, or a chipped tumbler, and somebody in the past changed one of them out????.... If it had a 2 notch tumbler originaly, and somebody put in a 3 notch tumbler as a replacement, then that would be the problem.. the three notch tumbler would not allow the sear for the two notch tumbler to engage due to mechanical interference, The same would be if it had a 3 notch tumbler, and a broken sear was replaced with a sear for a two notch tumbler... All the sear spring replacements in the world would not help the lock because the interference of the improper parts match... Just my 2 cents worth, but I bet that is your problem.. especially if it might even be a cobbled lock out of parts... Check it out and let us know.. Good Luck... Dave in Colorado.
