I'd have to see plenty of good pictures, as there seem to be some contradictions.

My Sporting Rifle has a carbine-length one-piece stock with no bar inlet, but a very nice (P) stamp. It also has a cadet-style butt plate - so - "special" stocks DO exist, but are very rare.
