Late in getting in on the discussion. In the late 70s early 80s the arsenal were trying to find a reloadable case for the military. In 1882 the Benet case was replaced with a boxer primed case that was reloadable. The reloadable program that insued made cases reloadable many times. The cases that you found in Arizona with the separation were the result of multible reloading were the separated at the weakest point about a quarter of an inch below the case head.
